Pinkard Completes Graland Country Day School

Lakewood, CO - Construction Manager/General Contractor Pinkard Construction Company has just completed Graland Country Day School’s Commons Building and Foundation Center project. This $5.6 million phased renovation and addition included razing the Gates Science Building to make room for a new Commons Building; a major renovation of Graland’s Foundation Center; and a 440 sf elevator and lobby addition and extensive ME upgrades.

The new Commons Building is steel-framed with cast-in-place basement walls, storefront and brick exterior, and a reclaimed-ludowici-tile roof, and includes a new 15,000 square foot, two-level dining hall with a 2,000 sf commercial kitchen.

The Foundation Center renovation eliminated the cafeteria/kitchen facility and created a new 10,000 square foot performing arts center.

ME upgrades included new RTU’s, electrical, and fire sparklers throughout the building.

The new Commons Building has applied for LEED Gold certification.

In business along the Colorado Front Range for 49 years, Pinkard Construction has completed over 50 elementary and secondary school projects across Colorado.
