DU and DMCAR honor Pinkard Construction's Brighton Learning and Resource Campus as Special Project of the Year.

Lakewood, CO - The University of Denver Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management, in partnership with the Denver Metro Commercial Association of REALTORS ® (DMCAR), honored Brighton Learning and Resource Campus as their Special Project of the Year a the 14th Annual Rocky Mountain Commercial Real Estate Expo and Fall Forecast. The award program recognized and honors outstanding accomplishments in architectural design, site planning, creativity, and project impact on the economy, the industry and the community.

The Brighton Learning and Resource Campus is an adaptive-reuse project that reflects the cooperation of government, educational and not-for-profit agencies under the leadership from the City of Brighton and Community Reach Center Foundation. The 7.7-acre campus offers numerous benefits to the community including an expanded Front Range Community Collage Campus; relocation of the Adams County Head Start program; expansion of local pre-school programs and expansion of the community's mental health counseling programs. Pinkard Construction Co. provided construction management/general contracting service for this challenging renovation and build-out. Pinkard worked with architect Burkett Design and owner's representative Norm DeHart of Guidance Corporate Realty Advisors.

The Burns School / DMCAR award ceremony was held the same day as the Brighton Learning and Resource grand opening ribbon cutting. The ribbon cutting ceremony included numerous speakers and representative from City of Brighton City Council, Bright Urban Renewal Authority, Community Reach Center Foundation Board, Colorado Department of Local Affairs, Colorado Department of Labor and Employment Work Force Development, Economic Opportunity Department and 27 J School District.
