Pinkard Construction Co. Completes New Golden Public Works Facility
Denver, CO - Pinkard Construction Company and RNL Design have just completed a new, $12 million public works facility for the City of Golden. Scope of work included comprehensive preconstruction services, site selection feasibility analyses, and construction of the new facilities. The facilities include:
. Fleet Maintenance Facility (CMU, steel and veneer)
. Shops Facility (CMU, steel and veneer)
. Heated Vehicle Storage Facility (premanufactured steel)
. Bulk Storage and Mixing Facility (28' high concrete and engineered-wood)
. Covered Vehicle Storage (24' high engineered-wood)
. Vehicle Wash Building with precast roof panels and CMU walls
. Outdoor Washbay canopy, and 20,000 gallon underground fuel tank
The 29.3-acre site package included major stormwater management oversite and maintaining a balanced site. For the balanced site, Pinkard moved, crushed and processed 198,000 bank cubic yards made up of ten different soil types. A massive blasting effort produced 71,000+ cubic yards of rock, creating cuts up to 50 feet deep. The entire 198,000 cubic yards of fill material remained on-site through out construction. Crushing and processing to spec was accomplished on-site.
