Pinkard Selected for CSU's Morgan Library Renovation/Addition

Lakewood, CO - Pinkard Construction Company is proud to announce its selection as construction manager/general contractor to provide preconstruction and construction services for the Morgan Library project at Colorado State University (CSU), Fort Collins.

Morgan Library is a three-phased, $11.2 million project that includes a 5,000 sf, two-story addition, a 130,000 sf four-story renovation, and extensive Plaza area upgrades.

The two-story plus partial basement addition will connect to the existing building on the north side via an enclosed, one-story connector walkway. The addition will be cast-in-place concrete with grade-to-roof glass curtainwall on all four sides, and a TPO membrane roof. It features commons space on both floors to provide group study space, restrooms, and a printing center.

The renovation portion includes remodels on three floors and the basement, with major mechanical upgrades that include new air handling units, dual duct boxes, and upgrading pneumatic controls to a new direct digital controls system. Other renovation components include an entry stairwell reconfiguration, restroom upgrades, new information and reservation desk, and new flooring, finishes and ceilings.

Pinkard is providing in-house Building Information Modeling (BIM) services that include clash detection, 4D scheduling, and construction phasing.

Upon completion, the addition portion of the project will apply for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Gold certification.

The completed project will create a signature building that attracts visitors of all ages to CSU. It is Pinkard’s eleventh project for CSU Fort Collins.
