The $13.95 million, seven building campus is constructed in the style of a small community to all ow NMFRD to provide real-life fire emergency simulations for first-time and on-going training in a state-of-the-art, safety-firest environment.

Outside, an "infield" training area provides for outdoor-related rescue scenarios with an emergency driving track, a "super-slick" concrete emergency skid pad, vehicle extrication area, confined space/trench rescue areas, water features for underwater rescue, and fuel spill fires area.

All building are primarily CMU with steel or pre-cast floors and roofs; concrete grade beams on caissons, cementitious siding with simulated stone wainscot, and asphalt shingles.
