Located on a 155-acre site in Castle Rock, Colorado, is the DIRECTV Castle Rock Broadcast Center. Home to the nation's premier broadcast satellite service, DIRECTV is the world's first fully serial digital transmission facility. It relays TV signals to and from satellites for transmission of 150 channels to homes across North America equipped with 18-inch satellite dishes. Two orbiting DIRECTV satellites, built by Hughes Aircraft Company in California, are controlled from a Hughes Communications' earth station adjacent to the DIRECTV broadcast facility.
