The Leon A. Wurl Service Center is a maintenance, shops and office facility that features a 9,560 sf Class “B” office building that connects with a 16,728 sf maintenance building on approximately 7.5 developed acres. The Center includes a 250,000 sf service yard with a 3,000 gallon fueling station, magnesium chloride/salt storage facility and truck wash pad.

Sustainable features on the maintenance building include a white TPO roof, photovoltaic panels with a power purchase agreement, full heat recovery, recycled asphalt, low-emitting materials, and instant-hot water units

An intensive preconstruction planning phase kept design-related changes to .6%, or 75% below the industry average. The final contract was $202,000 below the original contract.

Pinkard completed this fast-tracked project 56 days ahead of schedule, allowing the Town of Erie to completely relocate its maintenance operations well ahead of the winter season.
