Avanza Supermarket at the Lakeside Center in Denver, Colorado is the first of a number of large specialty grocery stores aimed at the Hispanic market nationwide. Owned by Nash Finch, a major midwestern grocer, this new supermarket is the largest of its kind in the Colorado Front Range. It is the centerpiece of the former 46-year old Lakeside Mall, which was renovated and recast as a Hispanic shopping emporium called La Plaza de Lakeside. Pinkard also did work on the Avanza Supermarket at the intersection of Federal and Louisiana in Denver.
