Fort Lauderdale, Florida — Construction Manager/General Contractor Pinkard Construction Company was awarded two National in Excellence in Construction Eagle awards from Associated Builders and Contractors in a ceremony on Thursday March 5, 2015 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/ Broward County Convention Center.

Pinkard’s Morgan Library project, an $11.4 million renovation/ addition at Colorado State University, won first place in the Institutional $10 million to $25 million category. Pinkard constructed a two-story LEED Gold certified addition and renovated 130,000 sf of occupied space, working closely with the library staff and Architect studiotrope Design Collective to minimize disruptions in this busy campus hub.

Pinkard’s Transformation of South Lowell, a $12.5 million rehabilitation of an aging affordable housing community, won first place in the Renovation $10 million to $100 million category. Pinkard and Architect WORKSHOP8 were able to fulfill all of client Denver Housing Authority’s (DHA) goals with collaborative problem solving, including utilizing an interior courtyard to construct an entirely new addition, along with a complete renovation of the existing building.
